This Verse Isn’t About You… or Is It?

“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’” (Jeremiah 29:11).

Guest (Male): Welcome to Seeds of Revelation, a short devotional presented by Rabbi Schneider, a Jewish believer in Jesus the Messiah.
Rabbi K.A. Schneider: One of the things that I see happen fairly frequently is people quoting scriptures out of context. In other words, they’ll take a scripture that maybe the Lord spoke to one person in the Bible and they’ll just grab a hold of that and apply it to themselves or apply it to the church or whatever. I think we need to be careful the way that we handle the word of God. I do think, however, that we can make a case that God's purpose for His children is good. For example, consider Jeremiah 29:11. The Lord is speaking to Israel here, and He says, "For I know the plans that I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for a calamity, to give you a future and a hope." Oftentimes that verse is quoted in such a way that it's not connected to the original historical context. Again, originally the Lord was speaking to Israel. But I think that we can truly make the case for the fact that even though that verse was originally given to Israel, God's plan for His children is good. That's what this verse is about: "I know the plans I have for you." I want you to know, my beloved child, a friend of the Lord, God has a good plan for your life. God has a good plan for your life and mine. I want us to be confident of that. We live in a world where there are so many terrible things happening—so much danger, so much sickness, so much gloom, so many wars, so much craziness with AI and everything else. But I want you to know, God, despite it all, has a good plan for your life. I want to encourage you to rise up in faith, trust that God is good, that He has a good plan for your life, and He's going to carry you and see you through in His goodness to the very end.

About Rabbi K.A. Schneider

Messianic Rabbi K.A. Schneider, a Jewish believer in Jesus and end-times messenger of the LORD, delivers the Word of the LORD with  true passion of the Holy Spirit.  At the age of 20 years old, the LORD appeared to him, supernaturally, as Jesus, the Messiah.  He has since pastored, traveled as an evangelist, and more recently, served as rabbi of a messianic synagogue.

Rabbi K.A. Schneider imparts revelation of Jesus’ Jewish heritage and His fulfillment of  messianic prophecy.  Questions of how the Old and New Testaments tie together, and how Yeshua completes the unfolding plan of The Almighty Yahweh, are answered with exceptional clarity.

Central to the LORD’s plan is Israel and the Jewish people.  Romans 11:11 explains that the Gentile believer has been chosen by God to bring the witness of the LORD to the Jewish people.  As this message of Yeshua is brought back to, and received by, the Jewish people, they will say, “Baruch Haba B’Shem Adonai” – “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the LORD!” and in so doing, usher in Yeshua’s return (Matthew 23:39).

Through understanding the Old Testament and its prophetic nature, with Yeshua as its fulfillment, the viewer’s faith is strengthened, increased relationship and intimacy with the LORD is discovered, and an end-times vision of life is crystallized.  “Discovering The Jewish Jesus” is an end-times ministry, strengthening the church and calling her to be a readied bride for the return of the Bridegroom, Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus The Messiah).
